Distance Query?: No

Path?: One run in Australia?

Likes wet?: Needs firm

Notes: Lightly-raced French stayer picked up by Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock. Won a G3 then bombed out in a G1 on a soft track which was a forget race. Bounced back to win another G3 as top-weight and then followed that up on August 27th with a G2 win over a similar field by a similar margin at Deauville. One to watch – confirmed horse owned by a Cup-focus mob it should have a crack. Tickets booked to fly over!

There’s also a pretty intriguing story with Tiberian. His sire is Tiberius Caesar, a decidedly average plugger that won only one of his 25 races during a five-year career on the racetrack. But he wasn’t gelded – so hold that thought.

He then had a long career as a ‘teaser’ stallion for more ‘popular’ stablemates at Haras Du Logis. If you’re not familiar with that term, a teaser is a fairly unfulfilling role – his job helps the dam get in the mood before the stallion is ushered in. Right then.

But it wasn’t all bad – Tiberius Caeser was allowed a once-off with mare Tomasina to keep him on his toes. He’s since sired precisely one other registered runner, who also won a race in France in June. Tiberius Caesar is 17-years-old, and might have another career ahead of him yet.
