Notes: Won the Geelong Cup in first outing, then straight into the Melbourne Cup to be fourth. Then won the Sandown Cup for good measure. Since getting back home he hasn’t done much. His first run culminated in a fourth in the Queen Alexandra Stakes, and his second and final run in the Group 1 Goodwood Cup saw him only beat one home.

That put some question marks on him being sent south again, but Godolphin are looking to put him in the Geelong Cup again to make the Melbourne Cup field.

Update: He’s unexpectedly not been nominated for the Geelong Cup so that’s a big surprise – should go into the Moonee Valley Cup.

“It was just a matter of doing what’s best by the horse. [Charlie Appleby] has decided it might be a better for him to go to the Moonee Valley Cup or Bendigo Cup,” Connett said.

“I think it’s just (deciding) the best race for his preparation. We are happy with the way he has been galloping at home here in Werribee.

“It’s all been positive, but Charlie made the decision to change plan.”

If he runs well in the MV Cup, he should go into the Melbourne Cup but the Sandown Cup could also be a target.
